"Church of Christ Doctrine"

 

Richard is in Africa for the month. While he is gone, he asked me to set up the church’s website. It has been a fun learning experience so far. I think it will be a good site. 

 

It has put me in the position of writing about some things I have not thought about in quite some time. Under headings like “Who Are We?”, “What Should You Expect If You Visit?” and “FAQ”, I am writing about the rationale for our worship routines and the justification for immersion as baptism. I think I expected to feel some trepidation writing on such subjects, but somehow, I felt reassured. I know the churches of Christ have been disparaged broadly in Christian writings over the last couple of decades, but her rationale holds up. I am writing for a Minnesota audience, many of them recent refugees and immigrants to this country. They have not heard the put downs about the Churches of Christ and I believe we will stand up well to their fresh look at us.[DM1]
